Alice in Wonderland

Hansel and Gretel

The Sorcerer’s Apprentice

Look Development

During my final quarter at SCAD I am taking a Creature Look Development course, where I will be working with the caterpillar character from the Alice in Wonderland scene. As part of this course, I have created a new tab on the menu above called, “Look Development”, where I will post about the process of developing the look development for the caterpillar. Be sure to stay tuned here on this main page and check out the new tab as well!

Winter Quarter Update

For the better part of Winter Quarter I have been focusing on the Alice in Wonderland and The Sorcerer’s Apprentice scenes. The updates can be found below (hint: remember to click the HD button if it isn’t already highlighted in blue):

Alice in Wonderland

The Sorcerer’s Apprentice

I have recently received some feedback on the two scenes and will be working towards implementing more improvements next quarter, after Spring Break, in addition to completing the Hansel and Gretel project. Stay tuned!

Sorcerer’s Apprentice Lighting and Camera Update

Lately, I’ve been working on the previsualization for the Sorcerer’s Apprentice scene. I have recently changed the lighting to include moonlight, and added basic color to the objects to get a feel for the color palette and overall mood (nothing is fully textured or shaded  yet). I have also recreated the camera moves based on a more cinematic approach like I took with the Hansel and Gretel scene, which includes a subtle establishing shot, followed by two slow, panning shots.

Just last night I came across the following image from the CGSociety Facebook page, which I think encompasses the look that I want to achieve with the lighting as well as the painterly, yet gritty and photorealistic quality of the texturing (and objects).
